Eclipses have a way of rearranging and shifting our lives in order to align us with a greater purpose or destiny. Things can feel pretty chaotic, especially if we've veered far off the path we're meant to be on. But I need you to trust that everything happening right now is happening for a reason, and that reason is to get you back on track.
The Leo solar eclipse on August 12th
The first eclipse is happening on August 12th in the sign of Leo. It's a solar eclipse with the south node, which means we're dealing with new beginnings (because solar eclipses are new moons) but with a twist. The south node represents the energy of release, of purging, of letting go. So in order to step into this new beginning, there may be something you need to walk away from first.
This is the first Leo eclipse in eight years and the first Leo solar eclipse with the south node since 2008. Themes or situations from those periods of your life may be re-emerging right now. If you have Leo placements, especially close to 20 degrees where the eclipse will be happening, this will affect you very potently. And this goes for the other fixed signs too: Aquarius, Taurus, and Scorpio. But everyone has Leo somewhere in their chart, and you can check the AstroBella app to see exactly where that's happening for you.
Do not force anything. Do not force this new beginning to happen. And don't hold on to anything that's being released.
The Pisces lunar eclipse on August 28th
The second eclipse is happening in the sign of Pisces at four degrees. It's a lunar eclipse, which means it's a full moon bringing up themes of release, endings, or culminations of something. This is the final Pisces eclipse in the series, so a story is also ending now, one that began back in 2024. If you have anything close to four degrees of Pisces or in any of the mutable signs, this could greatly impact you. Look at the house that Pisces rules for you, because something could be ending in that area of your life.
Five tips to not just survive, but thrive
Both of these eclipses carry the theme of something ending or falling away. My second tip is to let endings be endings. Don't chase anything that's trying to move away from you. Let go and move forward. My third tip is to surrender completely. This is not the time to grip tighter or try to control every outcome. This is the time to trust that whatever is happening is what needs to happen.
My fourth tip is to regulate your nervous system during this time. Meditate, journal, rest, be in nature, do whatever it takes to stay grounded and stay present. And my fifth and final tip is to leave room for the unknown while trusting your intuition. Certainty may not come right away and it may take time for you to understand why what's happening is happening. Just trust that it's happening for a greater purpose without needing to know all of the details or have the perfect explanation. August is a month of surrender, and if you follow these tips, you'll not only survive eclipse season but thrive during it as well.
