We're in the thick of Venus retrograde right now, running from October 3rd through November 13th, and I know some of you are already getting those texts. The ex is back in your DMs, suddenly remembering you exist. Before you start thinking this is some kind of sign from the universe that you're meant to be together, let me stop you right there. No, no, no. There is a reason they're coming back, but it's not to rekindle that flame.
Why your ex is really back
They may be coming back for you to revisit that relationship, to understand the lesson, to get clarity on why it ended and finally get closure. If they do come back around, treat it as an opportunity to heal deeper, to know yourself better, and to be able to move forward with more ease. Not because you're meant to be together. And even if you do choose to go down that path, you probably will regret it once Venus goes direct again. Your ex is your ex for a reason. Don't let this Venus retrograde make you forget that, even if they come knocking.
New relationships and breakups during the retrograde
This applies to other things that change in your relationship during Venus retrograde too. For example, if you meet someone new during this period, do not rush to decide if this is your person or not. Do not rush into a relationship now because relationships that begin under a Venus retrograde can shift dramatically once Venus goes direct. You might start seeing the person differently after the retrograde is over. You probably will get the ick after it's over. So move slow right now.
Venus retrograde is a review period. It wants to show you what's aligned with your values, what isn't, what needs to change and what you've outgrown.
But if you go through a breakup during this Venus retrograde, that might actually stick. Venus retrogrades reveal what isn't working in relationships, and in Scorpio it'll be impossible to ignore the truth, reveal where your values are misaligned. An ending that happens now can absolutely last.
Who gets hit the hardest
Everyone's going to experience this retrograde differently depending on where you have Scorpio and Libra in your chart, because that's where Venus will be retrograde. Some people's relationships will be impacted more than others. During the Scorpio portion of the retrograde, Taurus risings and Cancer risings relationships will be impacted the most. Then when it moves into Libra on the 25th, we will have Aries risings and Gemini risings relationships be impacted the most. If you have your Venus in the early degrees of Scorpio or the late degrees of Libra, your relationships will be impacted as well. And if your sign wasn't mentioned, you'll still be impacted in a different way.
